Technical Assistant - 37.5 hours per week, permanent role Monday-Thursday 8.30am-5pm Friday 8.30am-2pm 20 days holiday + bank holidays + company shutdown between Christmas and New Year (this is not taken from the holiday allowance) Auto-enrolment onto The People s Pension Early finish on a Friday! We are looking for an ambitious and hard-working trainee to join the Technical Department of this international organisation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake in-house and external, industry-recognised training with a view to moving up to Technical Engineer level within a few years. They will also receive some training in other functions of the business, such as operations. The ideal candidate would be looking to start a long-term career as they will be a fundamental part of the companys 5-year plan. This is an entry-level position, however the company will be investing in it and, as a result, career progression will be possible upon successful completion of training. Please see below the key areas of responsibility the new Technical Assistant will be working towards: Key area of responsibility To learn the key functions of the Technical Department in order to support the Technical Manager, External Sales Team and our partners, distributors and customers. To learn the basic functions of the Operations Department, including warehouse duties, in order to gain an overview of the business and provide cover if required. The aim is to work towards Technical Engineer level, which is responsible for the following duties: Leading and assisting with in-house indicative product testing for customers. Liaising with and directing outside contractors in the manufacture of tooling providing the requisite information and drawings. Leading and assisting with technical demonstrations with customers, organised by the sales team, with all of the fabrication 100% ready and waiting for assembly. Taking ownership, seeing through from start to finish and liaising with customers and sales team members, with the fitting of hardware for the security testing of windows and doors, providing customer support during testing at the laboratory. Attending site meetings where specification or reported faults may need company technical representation. Delivering in-house training programmes for customers, distributors and other interested parties as well as training days at the Coventry site. Providing follow-up visits in support to gain/maintain key customer relationships. Undertaking design and development work to progress new projects and products, providing the documentation and drawings as appropriate, including any 3D modelling required. Leading and assisting with security testing for internal projects and external customers' projects. Dealing with internal and external sales and technical queries providing the required information and documentation to support the request. Maintaining and updating the profile library. Ordering window samples and maintaining the technical development hardware stock for project work. Any other duties as required by the Technical Manager commensurate with the post. Ability to drive is desirable
