Logistics Operations Coordinator Bolton £23,000 + quarterly bonus (performance based, could earn up to £6k+ per annum) Monday-Friday 9am-5pm KPI are proud to be representing one of the largest wholesales distributing industries based in Bolton that have been fast growing for over 20 years. Due to the extensive growth of this business, my client has an exciting opportunity for someone to join their warehouse team as a Logistics Administrator. As a Logistics Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for dealing with all outbound delivery issues including being the point of contact for numerous third-party logistics partners. This person will be required to consult with these partners to look into issues and then inform and update both customers direct and internal departments of the problem and when the delivery will arrive. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the impact on customers in the event of late delivery is kept to an absolute minimum which involves acting on notifications from carriers and pro-actively checking systems. You will be required to cover for other members of the team and as part of an expanding logistics department, there may be room for adaptation and development of duties. This position will initially be based full time in the Bolton warehouse office, but partial working from home may be possible after training, hours of work are 9am-5pm. For this role, I am looking for someone with a willingness to learn and that has a positive attitude. The right person for this position will have a calm head and be an effective problem solver and will be able to work on their own initiative. You will have a strong work ethic and a meticulous attention to detail, as well as be computer literate, have high numerical and technical skills, and be a confident communicator Core Duties Contacting customers by phone and e-mail to advise them of a late delivery to ensure minimal impact to their installation. Organising any special requests from customers as a result of a late delivery. Arranging same day couriers for delivery failures in urgent cases. Investigating late deliveries reported by the sales team and providing updates and reasons for the issue. Correcting delivery issues by liaising with Carriers, OP/AM & WH departments to ensure the best outcome. Liaising with the carrier and customer to ensure deliveries are made as efficiently as possible. Pro-actively checking carrier portals to ensure deliveries are running on schedule including timed services. Investigating goods missing in transit with delivery partners, keeping customers and internal departments updated and requesting replacement orders and returns where necessary. Dealing with urgent on-site delivery issues including contacting customers by phone to find a possible solution. Informing customers about any re-delivery charges where applicable. Creating and updating quality logs for all delivery issues. Requesting refunds from carriers for timed services and liaising with sales staff to ensure the customer is credited. Checking for and requesting estimated time of arrival for customer deliveries. Providing customer and internal departments with proof of delivery. Checking potential delivery access issues reported by customers and providing an alternative delivery option where needed. Passing on customer complaints to carriers and ensuring full feedback cycle is carried out. Investigating damage in transit reports with delivery partners and providing PODs to the quality issues team. Submitting insurance claims for damaged/lost goods Arranging special delivery requests where required. Cover for the Senior Logistics Operations Co-ordinator and Logistics Co-ordinator. Experience/Skillsets Required Excellent organisation and planning skills. The ability to balance dealing with several issues at one time. Experience in taking a large volume of phone calls and processing and responding to a substantial number of e-mails. Experience in dealing with demanding customers and complaints. Verbal and written communication skills to a high standard. IT skills Positive attitude FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO GO INTO THE OFFICE FULL TIME BASED IN BOLTON, UK. YOU WILL BE SUITABLE FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE FULL RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK
