Lead Poject Professional An amazing opportunity has come up for a contract Lead Project Professional to join one of the largest UK Defence companies working on some exciting projects, on an initial 6-month contract basis, plus extensions. Details below... The Role: Lead Project Professional Contract: 6-months initially plus extensions Rate: £34.41 per hour umbrella IR35 status: Inside IR35. Location: Portsmouth, hybrid working The individual in this role will support the Project Manager with the delivery of a major project. Will be delegated responsibilities by the Project Manager across all aspects of project management for a project, including the deployment of project control and project management techniques. May be responsible for the management and performance of assigned packages of work, sub contracts, vendors and/ or accounts and will ensure plans are in place (e.g. Budgets, quality, performance and output plans), collect and format data and information, co-ordinate inputs of others, monitor & report progress and feed information to others who will ultimately make decisions relating to the wider project. This will mean engaging all stakeholders to ensure that scope, plans, resourcing and budgets are aligned to the respective business cases as deliverable projects move through their lifecycle and into support. Core Duties Advanced Project reporting Advanced Project scheduling Advanced Problem solving, based on previous experience and knowledge Advanced Administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/Microsoft packages Lead projects or work packages Deputise for the Project Manager, as appropriate Functional Knowledge Broad knowledge and understanding of his or her Line of Business or project. Project Management experience demonstrated in a professional role within a significant business or project. Extensive, expert level understanding of a range of Project Management tools techniques and practices. Good knowledge of the Project Management capability landscape including with Professional institutions. Good understanding of the Business environment for Line of Business or project. Good knowledge and experience of Project Management governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and as Assessor at LCM Reviews. Experience of influencing stakeholders both inside and outside the company. Ability to influence internal stakeholders to achieve business success. Ability to capture, evaluate and share best practice. Job requires professional knowledge gained through comprehensive work experience which enables job holder to apply specialist skills to ensure essential procedures are followed and to help define the standards around which others will operate.
