The IIP process is also followed in our European offices. We are seeking to recruit an Intermediate Cost Manager (3+ years experience) to work in our Rail team. The role will be based in our Belfast office with no overseas travel required as part of the role. The role of a Cost Manager includes the following responsibilities: Facilitating service delivery on behalf of ChandlerKBS, reporting directly to the relevant Associate or Senior Cost Manager. Liaison with design teams, contractors and client representatives. Taking a leading role on projects from feasibility stage to handover. Advising clients on the preparation of budgets and project appraisals. Preparing budgets, cashflows and reports. Benchmarking, inflationary assessments and forecasting. Site visits including measurement, progress and productivity assessments. Agreement of target costs, defined cost auditing, forecast outturn costs and earned value analysis. Assisting with procurement, including drafting Contract Data, contract clauses and preparing tender assessment reports. Monthly assessments, payment certificates and financial reporting. Assist project managers in administering the relevant conditions of contract. Assessment of early warning s and compensation events. Final accounts and post project reviews. Support managers in Identifying opportunities for growth within current and potential clients in the rail sector. Assisting with business development and tender preparation. Development of good practice initiatives and methodologies for continuous improvement and added value. Assisting in the management and mentoring of junior staff members. The minimum requirements of the role include: Degree qualified. Proven track record in the rail or civil engineering sectors. Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of NEC Contracts. Sound technical knowledge of the rail industry. Ability to work under own initiative. Experience of leading a team and responsibility for commission deliverables. Desirable Criteria include: Northern Ireland PTS qualified (however, this can be organised post appointment). Experience of managing S&T projects. Working towards MRICS or equivalent (however, structured training plans will organised to suit candidates requirements). Administration of NEC PSC contracts. Experience of risk and value management processes
