WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are seeking a strong candidate to serve as an integral part of our Global Functional Practice (FP) Operating Team, leading our internal communications and change management processes across our practices and other capability teams.

The Communications & Change Manager will lead development of the communications and engagement strategies, messaging and distribution approaches as part of our efforts to infuse our functional capabilities, digital programs, and integrated squad-based offers and programs throughout BCG's business and operations.

Key activities include developing and enhancing communications and deepening engagement reaching across our Partners, staff and other target audiences - teaming with our Functional Practice, BCG X, and other BCG operations.

Key focus will include:

Communications and marketing strategy creation and deployment:
  • Develops critical internal and external communications strategies and materials
  • Conducts and maintains audience assessment (needs, concerns, opportunities) - developing communications programs that respond and reach
  • Drives executive / leadership communications on key programs
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communications and across Practice Areas to develop proactive and reactive materials
  • Ensures key Practice milestones, announcements, and initiatives are communicated, coordinated and activated across BCG effectively
  • Maintains repository for and quality of materials supporting proposals and pitches
  • Develops, with Global Lead and Marketing Lead, internal marketing strategies to promote key practice programs and credentials

Defines scope, milestones, and roadmap for change and communications programs related to key cross-PA and cross-BCG initiatives:
  • Works to ensure involvement, alignment and teaming with key stakeholders
  • Surfaces and addresses interdependencies between new initiatives and other ongoing programs
  • Develops appropriate resourcing and budgeting; responsible for monitoring and tracking running budget
  • Oversee key communication and change management associated with new initiatives:
  • Coordinates across FPA and other BCG leadership to ensure shared progress of new initiatives
  • Collaborates on key announcements or communications where necessary, driving FPA offers' and programs' visibility and engagement
  • Proposes and helps organize sharing and training activities as needed
  • Ensures quality and quantity of knowledge management and training content, effective presentation and navigation
  • Collaborates with D&A Capabilities team, BCG Knowledge Team, Learning & Development and other BCG members of this field

Introduce, test and launch new communications tools and mechanisms into our change management efforts:
  • Identifies and tests potential new tools and approaches to modernize, accelerate and increase effectiveness of BCG communications
  • Collaborates with communications professionals and other teams across BCG to share ideas
  • Pilots and experiments with variety of tools, developing go-forward (or exit) strategies for their use in interactive and multi-tool way

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Successful candidates will have a high level of initiative, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and patience - along with ability to drive and set a strategic agenda. They will also bring:
Powerful, logical and effective written communication and story-lining that resonates with leadership
Ability to build trust and work collaboratively with all key stakeholders, i.e. practice areas, local office key contacts, global and regional marketing teams
Strong organizational skills with ability to plan, set goals, and manage multiple projects simultaneously within a fast moving environment
Customer service orientated - serve internal and external customers while ensuring activities align with and support the business objectives
A successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree Preferred
8-10 + years of work experience in a similar role in a major company, preferably consulting or some type of professional services
Experience writing and developing communications programs and materials for internal audiences
Strong project management, analytical and communications skills
Leadership presence and influence- engages audience and projects self-assurance
Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to embrace an iterative process, new ideas and change
Ability to think outside of the box, work in ambiguity and create solutions from scratch
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of seniority and strong presence and leadership skills

YOU'LL WORK WITH

Our FPA COO as well our Chair of Functional Practices and other senior leaders.

In addition, you will team closely with our FPA Director of Operations, our Offer Team Senior Director and the product managers and business builders building our Functional Practices and their topics and offers from planning to launch.
