Following a large-scale merger, this newly created position will play a crucial role in leading on the merger and acquisition accounting, working closely with the entire finance team to ensure a solid integration of one large organisation into another. The main responsibilities of the Finance Integration Lead (M&A) include:

  • Act as the technical accounting lead, and finance subject matter expert, for all current and future merger activity.
  • Analyse and communicate the effects of fair value accounting and future implications.
  • Work closely with senior members of the finance team to advise on accounting judgements and play a crucial role in managing consolidation adjustments.
  • Liaise with the entire finance team to ensure the roll out of aligned accounting policies across the group and its subsidiaries, as well as providing advice on the application of new policies and their impact on future transactions.

My client is seeking a confident self-starter, who can demonstrate a strong track record in merger accounting to allow them to hit the ground running in this role, adding value in this crucial period for the organisation from day one. After successfully completing the immediate merger accounting priorities, this role will work across the group and its subsidiaries to provide expertise as a 'value add' for the organisation, in relation to technical accounting. The successful candidate will be:

  • A qualified accountant, ideally trained in practice.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent technical accounting knowledge in relation to large-scale mergers and acquisitions.
